Mesothelioma Guide is sponsoring and will attend the 2025 International Conference of the International Mesothelioma Interest Group (iMig) from October 26-29 in Philadelphia, PA.
The conference takes place every two years, bringing together scientists, patient advocates and clinicians to better understand and fight mesothelioma. This rare cancer spreads quickly and is associated with poor survival times. The average life expectancy for patients is 1-2 years. Many doctors, researchers and advocates are invested in improving patient outcomes.
Mesothelioma Guide patient advocate and lead medical expert Karen Ritter, RN, will attend the conference along with Mesothelioma Guide legal patient advocate Angela Bullock. The conference takes place at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown and features a keynote speaker and seven anticipated plenary sessions across four days of networking, workshops, and other events.
Sessions feature world-class specialists for mesothelioma, experts, the latest research involving treatment approaches and patient care. The conference also offers opportunities for advocates, patients, and medical professionals to collaborate and accelerate both awareness of the disease and progress in helping patients.
The keynote speaker is Stephen Hahn, MD, chief executive officer at Nucleus RadioPharma. He’s the former U.S. commissioner of Food and Drugs and President and CEO of MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.
Some of the plenary speakers are:
- Aaron Mansfield, MD, a medical oncologist and mesothelioma specialist at the Mayo Clinic
- Jenette Creaney, PhD, a molecular biologist from the University of Western Australia
- Paul Baas, a senior staff member in the department of Thoracic Oncology at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam
