Jenna's Work at Mesothelioma Guide

After 5 valuable years as a registered nurse in New Jersey, Jenna moved down to Florida. With the warmer weather, her health improved and she knew she wanted to continue advocating for patients and their families. In 2015, she began working as a Patient Advocate and Medical Outreach Director for Mesothelioma Guide.

Jenna is able to connect patients to top mesothelioma specialists, treatment facilities, and clinical trials. She has found ways to help patients afford treatment and the potential travel expenses that may occur when going to see a specialist.

“I quickly became an expert on mesothelioma. I have researched top specialists throughout the country. I’ve spoken to countless patients and office staff and understand certain criteria some doctors are looking for.”

Jenna understands a cancer diagnosis can bring emotional and financial burden. She will help patients stay focused on fighting their disease and provide ways to help cope. She connects patients and caregivers to support groups and will provide information on financial resources and compensation in order to help pay for treatment. Jenna knows how important it is to focus on treatment and recovery, not dollar signs.

Jenna's Experience and Education

Jenna graduated from Susquehanna University and continued her education at Muhlenberg Harold B. & Dorothy A. Snyder School of Nursing where she earned her RN degree. While gaining experience in the nursing field, educating and treating patients with rare diseases, Jenna took night classes at Caldwell University to receive her Certified School Nurse certificate.

It was Jenna’s dream to become a school nurse at a school for special needs children with rare diseases and disabilities. It soon became her mission to help promote health and wellness and advocate for children and their families. She was fortunate enough to work in a multidisciplinary setting at P.G. Chambers School as a school nurse for 3 years before getting promoted to Director of Nursing in 2014.

“Being born into a family of medical professionals, I knew nursing was in my future. I’ve always had a passion for helping others. Due to my personal experience having a rare disease, I knew I wanted to work with others who were battling or touched by a similar experience and help them through that vulnerable time.”
